Ticks can transmit dangerous pathogens. They should therefore be removed as soon as possible after the bite with our bogaclean® TICK-OFF tick hook.

Do not apply oil, nail polish or other liquids to the tick before removing it, as the tick can otherwise release dangerous pathogens into the bloodstream through a stress reaction. After removing the tick, disinfect the bite site. Place the removed tick in a folded piece of paper and crush it with a solid object. Flushing it down the toilet does not kill the tick. Ticks are survivors, even under water.
